Lakeside Christmas Concert
Lakeside Primary School brought their Years 4-5 classes for their annual Christmas Concert to the Bacon Theatre.
Aims
The aim of this event was to enable the Lakeside children to experience a performance on a big stage, as they sang and read for their parents and other members of their family. The Lakeside Head identified their own lack of a suitable space. Both the children and their parents saw the benefit of this event.
Background
David Evans, the Dean Close Director of External Relations, and Ben Jordan, Headteacher of Lakeside have been in discussion for a year about mutual collaboration. This event came from those discussions.
Resources
Dean Close offered the use of the Bacon Theatre free of charge and David Evans attended to supervise the event.
Impact
The success of this event was measured qualitatively. The faces of the children, the delight of the organising staff and the Head Teacher, and the thanks of the parents was all that was needed to show the value of this event.
Pupil Involvement
All the Lakeside Years 4 and 5 were involved.
Frequency
This was a one-off event but might become n annual fixture.
