ISSP Music Partnership day

Over 350 local secondary pupils came together on Tuesday 12th March 2019 for a day of music-making as part of the Hampton and Lady Eleanor Holles Independent State Schools Partnership.

Pupils from Waldegrave School, Tolworth Girls’ School, Hampton High, Orleans Park School, Turing House and Teddington School joined forces with musicians from LEH and Hampton to work on a range of musical pieces throughout the day. After hours of rehearsals, the day culminated in a rousing concert in the Hammond Theatre for family and friends which included a series of ensemble performances, a full orchestral performance of Sibelius’s Finlandia and a 250-performer orchestral and choral rendition of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana.

 11 hours on the day plus approx. 10 hours of preparation time.

Pupil Involvement

This involved about 65 children from our partner schools as well as at least 50 each from Hampton School and LEH.
