Intensive swim teaching for children who have not met the National Curriculum level

Provision of intensive swim teaching for pupils who have not learned to swim by following the standard school swimming lessons. Standard lessons are typically once a week with large group sizes. This project takes a different approach, providing teaching in very small groups sizes (typically 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3) and the children have lessons every day for a week.

The second aspect of this project provides training for primary school teachers to deliver swim teaching.

 

Resources

CLC support includes the pool and swimming teachers, transport for the pupils and teachers from the primary schools, facilities and catering for the teacher training..

Pupil Involvement

Between 80-100 pupils from approximately 15 local primary schools.
