Hosting Birds 2 B Heard Enviromental Symposium and Eastbourne Eden

The Birds 2 B Heard environmental symposium was so important for our students to be part of. It showed them that it is not only them that cares about the future of the planet. Instead there are important people across the UK, who feel the same and are supporting our students in making change happen. I think that is the most powerful tool our students need. The reassurance that their future on this planet is being cared for and the fact that people like Sir Tim Smit care about this so passionately, is incredibly powerful and serves as a beacon of hope against a political backdrop of negativity and inaction. I know that my students were ecstatic to have met Sir Tim. They have discussed the need to put Eastbourne on the map as an example of community and council driven sustainable change and want the town to inspire other towns to act.

The Birds 2 B Heard environmental symposium was a celebration of our town and the support we are gaining in our want to make it a better place for all that live here. A huge thanks needs to go to Eastbourne College and the Towner for hosting it. Lord and Lady Lucas for organising it and the Coastal Schools Partnership for giving our students continued opportunities to express their passion for significant sustainable change in Eastbourne. We must also thank the speakers and guests that attended from beyond the town. As they are the inspiration our students so desperately need.
