Holy Apostles' Primary Languages Assembly
9 Dean Close A Level Modern Languages pupils helped a member of the MFL Department lead an assembly on the value of learning modern languages, with the aim of inspiring primary age pupils to think this was a good thing to learn.
Aims
The aim was to inspire young children of primary age to be interested in the learning of other langauges. Modern Languages are under threat with numbers taking them at GCSE and A level dropping each year.
Background
The member of the Dean Close MFL Department has two sons at Holy Apostle's and so enlisted the support of some of our Sixth Form pupils to help him with this assembly.
Resources
This required school transportation and one teaching member of staff's time and expertise.
Impact
The impact is only qualitative from the feedback of both pupils and staff at Holy Apostles.
