Heber Junior School Performances

Heber School has used the theatre at Alleyn's for many years to rehearse and perform their end-of-term shows. This is an ongoing partnership and previous shows include: Bugsy Malone and Charlie & the Chocolate Factory.

Resources

Alleyn's multi purpose theatre space and all technical equipment was hired free of charge to the local School. 

Alleyn's student technicians operated lighting and sound for the duration of the hire. Alleyn's theatre manager, alongside Heber staff coordinated the day and oversaw the daily activities in the space.

A production meeting was held in advance of the hire with the Theatre Manager and Heber School where any technical questions could be answered and logistics discussed. All technical equipment required for the show was provided free of any charge to Heber.

Alleyn's event managers were on site throughout and supported the logistics of the hire, arranging FOH staff for their evening performance. 

During the evening performances a bar was run by Alleyn’s School and the proceeds made were donated back to the school to help pay for necessary staffing of sound and lighting operations and theatre ushers for the production.

Impact

Heber pupils enjoyed reheasing and performing in a professional theatre. 

“The opportunity to use the theatre was very important to us.The children thoroughly benefited from the experience in terms of giving them an insight into future opportunities for music and drama at secondary school. The confidence we saw in the children was fantastic and the parents were very impressed by their talent.”
