Games with Ronald Ross
This project enables Year 6 pupils from Ronald Ross Primary School to travel to King's to take part in sports every Friday afternoon during the academic year. The activities are led by Year 10-13 pupils from King's.
Aims
The aims of the project are to -
Develop skills of leadership, communication, responsility organisation and collaboration in King's pupils.
To enable the Ronald Ross pupils to have a weekly games activity.
To enable the pupils from Ronald Ross to grow in confidence as they made progress in each sport.
Resources
The project use sports facilities and equipment at King's in addition to members of the teaching staff from both schools.
Impact
Reflections take place throughout the year and all King's pupils taking part stated that they had improved their skills of leadership, communication, responsility organisation and collaboration as a direct result of the project.
The Ronald Ross pupils grew significantly in confidence during the course of the year and their sporting skills were also highly improved as a result.
Many primary school students stated that the best aspect of the sessions was the amount of fun they had, with one adding, ‘Absolutely amazing. This has definitely become one of the most enjoyable terms.’ and a second stating the importance of ‘being a good sport’ at all times.

Year 6 pupils from Ronald Ross are led by year 10-13 pupils from King's.
