French Lessons at Cutteslowe Primary School

A member of St Edward's staff attends Cutteslowe Primary school twice a week to teach French to each of their KS2 classes.

Aims

Cutteslowe expressed a need for more resource in their delivery of MFL as they have struggled for a teacher to teacher all 6 classes in KS2. They asked for French as this is the language that the local secondary school teaches and so it is great for the Primary school pupils to have a good introduction to this language.

Background

Cutteslowe Primary School has a long standing partnership with St Edward's School. With open dialogue between our 2 organisations we were able to identify that an MFL teacher would be of benefit for both staff and pupils at Cutteslowe Primary School.

Pupil Involvement

Each KS2 class has a 30 minute lesson. There are X6 classes in total, so 3 hours of French is taught each week.

Frequency

These sessions happen on a weekly basis during term time.
