Forest School

In July 2021 a group of 8 students and their teachers from the Bridge Education Centre in Eastleigh attended a forest school session with Dan Wright, the Duncan Louis Stewart Fellow of Natural History at Winchester College.  These emotionally vulnerable students have difficulty engaging with the curriculum and benefitted greatly from the session with Dan.  They were shown how to safely light a fire then cooked sausages and a freshly caught trout, before toasting marshmallows on the fire and making knotted wristbands.  Their teachers commented on how fantastic it was to see them fully engaged with the activity.  We look forward to inviting them back to Winchester College for some basketball coaching.
