Forensic Psychology Conference for Sixth Form Pupils
This conference involved speakers from "True Life Conferences" discussing crime and forensic psychology. Psychology pupils from Greycourt School were invited to take part in this, alongside IPS pupils.
Aims
The conference gives an invaluable insight into how we deal with offenders in Society and it has direct links with Forensic Psychology units in both Edexcel and AQA specifications.
The speakers initially give an outline of how prisons work, the types of prisons and discuss their effectiveness. Some pupils will also have the chance to try on some prison clothes. A Forensic Psychologist will then talk about her job and how she deals with offenders. Ex-offenders will also give a talk on their experiences of the criminal justice system and pupils will have the chance to discuss any of the issues raised.
Resources
IPS hosted the event in our theatre and provided lunch.
