Faith In Action Lecture Series

Woldingham School is located in the Redhill Deanery within the Catholic Diocese of Arundel and Brighton.  The School works closely with local parishes and Sacred Heart Schools in developing faith and learning.

Aims

The Faith In Action Lecture Series aims to provide a series of lectures which challenge students to live out their faith in action.  The speakers have a message for all and it is an opportunity to share ideas and thinking about evangelisation.  It is ongoing formation for the Deanery and the school.

Background

Woldingham School's Chaplain is part of the Diocese and the Deanery and he identified the need for challenging lectures alongside the School's Head of Careers, Roy Peachey.  The programme of lectures has run for the past two years.

Resources

Woldingham School are able to provide a venue and the lectures are live streamed to other Sacred Heart Schools globally.  The events are facilitated by both teaching and non-teaching staff and refreshments are provided for those who attend.

Impact

The lectures have encouraged staff, students and members of local parishes to think clearly about their faith commitment and how we must live out our Christian vocation in word and deed.  This had led to more students volunteering to help in the local community and to parishioners getting involved in their local parish.

Pupil Involvement

The students involved are from Year 7 through to the Upper Sixth.

Frequency

The Faith In Action lectures take place three times throughout the academic year.
