Exeter School Music Partnership (ESMuP)

All 6F pupils who select music as their Friday 8 option, as well as volunteers, participate in weekly sessions in which they teach music to pupils in local primary schools. The group are led by primary schools in terms of what their needs are, and classes have included learning to play plastic trombones and whole-class singing. 6F pupils design the syllabus themselves with support from staff, and then deliver them to pupils.

Aims

Develop pupil confidence in teaching music, enhancing their own musical ability in the process.

Give pupils an opportunity to learn a musical instrument they may otherwise not have.
