EAL with St Mark's Academy

Sixth formers teach English as an Additional Language to students in Years 7-9 from St Mark’s Academy who have recently moved to this country with very little English. Lessons are entirely planned and taught by the King's students, and there is room to do creative work that engages the St Mark’s students and raises their confidence in the language. Often challenging, this is a wonderful opportunity for students who are interested in pursuing languages and/or teaching, or who are considering teaching English as a Foreign Language during a gap year or future year abroad.

Resources

Staff from both schools are present, facilities are used at St Mark's.

Pupil Involvement

Sixth Form students from King's teach English as an Additional Language to groups of students from Years 7-9 from St Mark's Academy.
