Design and Technology partnership

The school's DT teachers and labs are offered to the charity as an annual event to provide opportunities for deaf children to learn DT skills and create something meaningful.

Aims

The aim of the project is to put Ryde School's resources to good charitable use outside of the Ryde School timetable by helping children with disabilities to fulfil their potential.

Background

The project came about through the former Head of DT at the school who had personal links with the charity in question.

Impact

This project has enabled deaf children on the Island to develop confidence and enjoyment carrying out DT. It has also benefited their social skills since this is a group activity.
