Data and teaching collaboration
As a result of the success of previous work with another school in United Learning, the Senior Teacher at Guildford High School (GHS) analysed the baseline data of the Sedgehill cohort and illustrated the type of analysis we carry out on our pupils to the AHT at Sedgehill. Sharing best practice.
This collaboration led to a Science Drop-down day where GHS staff visited Sedgehill and helped tutor in GCSE Biology.
The assessments were financed by GHS.
Aims
GHS Senior Teacher (Pupil Progress) to work collaboratively with Head Teacher and AHT on analysis of baseline data in order to identify pupil strengths across two cohorts. Additional analysis was carried out in order to identify pupils who may require more support with their learning.
Impact
Shared ideas around tracking and data analysis. Led to bespoke focus on Biology GCSE revision.
Pupil Involvement
Pupils in Years 7 and 10 sat a nationally standardised assessment. This generated the data for analysis. Subsequently, GCSE pupils were involved in Biology ‘revision’ sessions run by GHS staff.
