Cross sector partnerhips in 2022/23

Our cross-sector partnership programme for the 2022/23 academic year included the following activity:

9 local primary schools engaged in partnership activity throughout the year, involving 400 primary school pupils

Over 100 hours of weekly enrichment activity delivered throughout the year. Subject areas include reading support, drama, art and PE.

120 St Swithun’s pupils and staff involved in the programme

40 hours of swimming pool hire, tuition and transport provided for 5 local primary schools (saving each school £3k, on average)

An events programme which welcomed over 200 primary school pupils to St Swithun’s to take part in maths, PE and creative arts activities, delivered by St Swithun’s pupils and staff.

Transport support, allowing over 300 primary school pupils to attend educational days and co-curricular events off-site.

Shared teaching resources with Park Community School in Havant, with a direct focus on helping to raise the aspirations of some of their female students.

A lecture programme attended by students from local secondary school and Sixth From colleges.

Impact

The primary school pupils complete a self-evaluation survey before and after the 8-week (8 hours) enrichment programme element of our programme. They are asked to rate themselves across four different attitudes towards each particular subject.

On average, our programmes show a 10-15% positive impact on the learning experiences of the primary school pupils.

Our swimming programme saves primary schools £1500-2000 per programme.

Transport provision saves primary schools £15-20 per child, often ensuring the trip/experience goes ahead.
