Cricket with local schools

We hosted the qualifiers for the Lady Taverners' National Cricket Cup in our indoor Cricket Centre in February 2020.

Aims

Our aim was to support the Shropshire Cricket Board who needed a venue for the competition. We therefore offered our indoor Cricket Centre free of charge.

We are centrally placed in the town and county, making access easy for all those involved.

Background

We have a long standing partnership with the Shropshire Cricket Board. We have previously hosted this event.

Our Head of Girls' Cricket made the arrangements.

Resources

Our indoor Cricket Centre is a great venue for such events and we can accommodate several teams with ease. 

Naturally, we offer our guests refreshments and make them feel comfortable.

The U13 matches was held on 4th February 2020; the U15 on 11th February.

Impact

This is a great environment for these young players to enjoy their cricket and help instil the love of the game to keep them interested and develop their skills.

Pupil Involvement

Pupils involved are U13 and U15 from 7 schools around the county.

Frequency

This is a once per year event but we hope to continue our strong tie with the Shropshire Cricket Board.
