Cricket with Green Lane Primary School

9 to 11 year-olds of mixed sporting ability from Green Lane take part in cricket sessions arranged by KCS students and staff. Many of the pupils will never have had the opportunity either to play cricket before or to benefit from specialist sports coaching.

Aims

Introduce the primary pupils to a new sport and develop their fitness and general sporting ability and interest. Develop the leadership and communication skills of the KCS students leading the sessions.

Resources

Cricket equipment, transport and teaching staff from both schools are involved. 

Impact

All King's pupils stated that their organisational and leadership skills had improved as a result of working on this project.  

Pupil Involvement

King's pupils aged 14-18 are involved leading Year 5 and 6 pupils from Green Lane Primary School.
