Conference Centre - Use of Facilities
Arranged through the Conference Centre, a variety of groups and organisations make use of the School facilities, sometimes without charge other than, where applicable, covering the cost of refreshments/food. Examples include:
- Stour Valley Descent, each autumn
- Weldmar Hospice Trust – Sponsored Sleep Walk
- Cricket ‘Chance to Shine’ (cricket competition for primary school children)
- Blandford Tennis Club use of courts each week between April and September annually (nominal fee charged)
- Dorset Teacher Training Partnership Graduation
- Dorset County Cricket – first team winter indoor net practice, provided free of charge
- Bryanston Village Cricket Club, have free use of wicket for village games in summer months (6 sessions)
- The Army Benevolent Fund fundraising lunch was provided for cost price.
- A Curry Lunch was held to raise money for SSAFA.
- Dorset Schools’ Cricket Association AGM
- Dorset Schools’ Sports Federation AGM
- Dorset Small Bore Pistol AGM
- Around 400 pupils from Dorset schools attended the Sports Leadership Academy
Tuesday Club
On a fortnightly basis we collect and return approximately 30 residents from care homes and warden-assisted accommodation in Blandford to visit Hunter House. The Tuesday Club provides an opportunity for interaction, entertainment and activities such as lectures, playing cards, bingo and quizzes, which is followed by tea and cake.
Pupil Involvement: Approximately 10 Bryanston pupils assist
Frequency: Around 18 sessions are provided in the academic year.
New Sign
For the last three terms Bryanston have been undertook to make a new sign for the local Parish Council in D&T
Community Choral Society
Members of the society have access to the resources at Bryanston such as the Concert Hall, Recital Room, and Church. Several member of staff also offer their skills without charge. The society has now reached 100 singers.

Photography to support Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund
Voluntary photography supporting the charity work of the Henry van Straubenzee Memorial Fund in Uganda. This charity is currently working with 45 schools in remote rural regions. Progress is photographed annually of the building projects and achievements.

Dorset Search and Rescue
Nick Welford, Head of Science is a volunteer for the Dorset Search and Rescue Group. The Group uses the school grounds for navigation training exercises and river activities.

Dorset County Netball
Dorset County Netball use Bryanston's Sports Hall for the North Dorset Satellite Academy coaching, which runs on Wednesday evenings from September through to March. Roni Peck, Teacher of Maths and Netball and Tennis Coach, acts as lead coach and is remunerated for her time.

Ringing Centre
Bryanston's St Martin's Church is a designated 'Ringing Centre' and is used by outside groups of ringers for educational purposes. In particular, practices are held there every Tuesday morning. A committee manages the Ringing Centre and its activities.

Guide Dogs for the Blind
Secretary to the Second Master volunteers for Guide Dogs for the Blind by providing boarding for a dog prior to advanced training. Bryanston grounds are used as a collection/drop-off point for the dog.

Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue
Dorset Fire & Rescue are given access to the grounds, buildings and river for practices.

Save the Children concert
Bryanston supports an annual concert held in the school's concert hall by the Blandford branch of Save the Children.
Resources: The school's common room secretaries provide administrative support and print tickets and posters. The school provides catering and covers all costs of the concert.

Children4ChildrenNepal
The Nepal charity, Children4ChildrenNepal (formerly Freedom Matters) has its registered address as Bryanston School and holds regular meetings at school. Bryanston staff member Sarah Stacpoole is the former Chair of the Board of Trustees and Peter Hardy is the Treasurer. The school has also provided consultancy advice on employment law.
Charity Walk for Street Child Africa
In April 2018, there was a 10km charity walk around the bluebell woods and downs of Dorset, with a picnic lunch. The aim of the walk, involving the majority of the school, is to raise money for Street Child Africa one of Bryanston’s long-term charity partners.
2018 A2 Charities Weekend
Bryanston holds an annual A2 Charity weekend in the spring term every year. In 2018 it was in aid of Children on the Edge and the pupils raised over £15,000 by holding lots of different fundraising events around school.

Christmas Soiree for Richard Ely Trust
A Christmas Soiree was held at Bryanston School for Richard Ely Trust. The evening of music invited local business people and councillors. The purpose of the Trust is to promote, improve, develop and advance education in and the appreciation of music and all its aspects. It is aimed at young people under the age of 21 living in or educated within Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole with a particular view to assisting those in financial hardship.
