Supporting Dyslexia
The Yorkshire Rose Dyslexia Unit use the schools facilities weekly to support children in the area with dyslexia.
Working with Aire Valley Singers
The school has a link through a School Governor with Aire Valley Singers. The school have hosted their concerts for free, and pupils regularly perform with the singers at the Rawdon Lights Community Carol event and Aire Valley Singers’ concerts.
Bradford North Foodbank
The school supports the Bradford North Foodbank with Christmas hamper collections. Christmas goods are collected and then sorted into parcels and distributed to those who are deemed to be in special need. The school also supports them with an annual Easter Egg collection, where around 400 eggs are distributed to foodbanks around Bradford.
Local Charity Shop Volunteering
As part of our community support programme pupils are encouraged to help local charities by working in their outlets as volunteers.
Supporting Nursing Homes
Pupils visit the home and spend time talking to the residents and assisting them, if they can, with their needs.
Use of Sporting Facilities
The school lets out sport facilities to a number of organisations in order to enhance their sporting provision to the local community. This includes local netball clubs, swimming clubs, cricket clubs and football clubs.
Working with Local Sporting Clubs
The school has partnerships with many local sports clubs, ranging from local amateur to professional organisations across many different sporting categories.
These partnerships range from holding weekly training sessions on the grounds, hosting holiday camps or one off events.
Music in the Community
The school choir and various orchestras perform at local events to support the community. These include Rawdon Remembrance Service, Fountains Abbey's Annual concerts and various performances at local church halls.
Charitable Residential and Day Camps
The school welcomes a number of charities to the school during the school holidays to host residential camps. This can be camps aimed at developing academic, sporting or musical abilities.
Home of the Elite Leeds Rhinos team U17/U19s
The school has a key partnership with Leeds Rhinos netball and is the home of their Elite U19 & U17 squads. The teams train at the school twice a week and the school also hosts regular school holiday camps and masterclasses for the club. This gives their teams access the fitness suite, sports hall and classrooms for seminars and tutorials.
Partnership with Bradford City Football Club
The school is the home of the Bradford City Football Club Academy and the training ground for the BCFC 1st Team squad. This gives all the BCFC players access to the schools facilities and the school delivers BTEC Sport to their Academy players.
The school also hosts Bradford City Fitness in the Community which is a local charity with the aim to increase local childrens participation in sport.
The school is also the home of Bradford City Women Football Club who use our facilities on a weekly basis to train and play their fixtures.
Working with National and County Level Sporting Organisations
The school acts as a venue for many high level sporting organisations. This includes coaching days, conferences, selection events and AGM's.
Supporting the development and growth of Archery
Bronte Archery Club has been in existence since 1948. The club uses the Rawdon Meadows facilities of Woodhouse Grove School as its base. The Club has a thriving membership, with members past and present having represented both county and country.
The partnership aims to support the growth and development of Archery in the UK by providing this local Archery club with training and competition facilities.
The West Yorkshire Methodist District Conference
Woodhouse Grove School provides the venue for the West Yorkshire Methodist District Conference on an annual basis.
