Community Service Days

Annually in the summer term, students in Year 7, 8, 9, 10 and 12 spend a day volunteering their time in the community. This involves about 450 students, 5 different local organisations and 10 different projects; culminating is about 2500 man hours of volunteering.

Aims

The aim is to serve and connect with the wider Hull community through serving and volunteering. As well as to give students the opportunity to experience the joy of helping others through volunteering in the community.

Background

The first community day came about as an idea to celebrate the 125 Anniversary of the school, by all students in the Sixth Form spending a day volunteering in the community and giving something back. It has now become an annual event for all students in Year 7 - 10 and 12 as part of our annual enrichment week.
