Community Orchestra and Community Training Orchestra
Moreton Hall established 2 community orchestras in 2012 for the benefit of both the Moreton Hall students but also the children from the local community
Aims
The project aims to give all children, no matter what school they attend, the oportunity to access expereince of playing in an orchestra
Background
The LEA music provision was being dramatically cut back and Moreton saw a real need for orchestra training for children who would otherwise have no access to an orchestra
Resources
The music department gives up an evening a week at Moreton Hall and puts on an imprressive concert with the children of the orchestra one or two times a year
Pupil Involvement
All ages are involved - children just need to play an orchestra instrument and be having lessons. The training orchestra allows for beginners to get involved.
Frequency
Weekly in term time
