Community Fundraising
The Sixth Form Charity Committee has responsibility for evaluating charities, coordinating fundraising activities, and communicating and promoting charities within the school community.
Significant annual events include the Talent Show, and the Lower School Christmas Fair.
The pupil community raises over £20,000 per year for charitable causes.
School Charities include ‘Lerang’wa Lunches’ and a local charity that changes annually. Pupil organised events also support Amnesty International, Macmillan Cancer, Rotary Christmas Collection, The Poppy Appeal and the Caterham Foodbank. Each year the charity commitee respond to charity appeals such as th BA Flying Start appeal for foregn coins.
Aims
All fundraising is complemented with education of the relevant causes through assemblies and tutor periods.
Fundraisng events provide pupils with a genuine opportunity to develop leadership, management and team working skills - working towards tangible and rewarding goals.
