Christmas Concert

RHS welcomed a large audience to the Chapel to experience a wonderful evening of entertainment from our Chapel Choir and Holbrook Choral Society for our annual Christmas Concert. Before the concert, everyone enjoyed some warming mulled wine and mince pies in the Music School before settling into the Chapel for some festive sounds.

Background

The timeless beauty of Britten's 'A Ceremony of Carols', composed during a sea voyage in 1942, and the captivating carol sequence of Mathias' 'Ave Rex' was performed in the first half, showcasing some outstanding solos from Mathilda K, Lily H, Issey M, Imogen T and James B.

The second half was filled with sing-along carols, cherished Christmastide readings, and several performances from the department's other ensembles.

Pupil Involvement

A particular highlight was the chamber choir's performance of Bob Chilcot's 'Sleeping Child', featuring Year 7 soloist Eleanor B.
