Choral Day
An invitation to local prep and junior schools to come together and join King Edward’s pupils for a day of choral music.
The pupils learn and rehearse songs and renditions during the day and perform them in a concert in the afternoon to a guest audience made up of parents, governors and staff.
More often than not, the students will not know each other so it is a great opportunity for them to meet and make new friends and work together in a team.
Aims
To offer the young chorists the opportunity to be part of a large choir and perform in the King Edward’s Chapel.
Pupils are divided into groups depending on their vocal speciality i.e. soprano, alto, tenor and tutored by King Edward’s and visiting music teachers in designated areas.
At 3pm parents and teachers from the visiting schools, governors and staff from King Edward’s are invited to see the concert in the Chapel. Light refreshments are offered afterwards and everyone is welcome to stay. As they leave, every pupil is given a goodie bag to remember the day.
A four-page A4 programme is produced for all visitors.
