Choir performance

The Withington Girls' School choir was asked to participate in Wood Street Mission's 150th anniversary multi-faith service at Manchester Cathedral in November 2019. The school was asked to perform by a trustee of Wood Street Mission.

The choir also performed alongside a primary school, St Marks Church of England Primary from Worsley.

Aims

1. To deepen our partnership with our long-standing charity partner, Wood Street Mission.

2. To help with the fundraising at this service.

3. To help collect gifts for Wood Street Mission's Christmas gift appeal.

4. To increase social awareness and self-esteem in our own pupils.

Background

Withington Girls' School has enjoyed a partnership with Wood Street Mission for over 16 years. Due to this long-standing relationship, the school was asked to participate in this thanksgiving service to commemorate 150 years of the charity. The school also supports this charity by fundraising at an annual carol service held every December. Gifts for the Christmas Appeal were collected from the whole school community and delivered to the charity.
