Chantlers School Volunteering Scheme

Every Wednesday afternoon a group of 6th form pupils volunteer to support teachers in KS1 & KS2 classes at Chantler's Primary School, Bury. 
Their primary focus is on developing the reading skills of pupils. 

Aims

The aim of the scheme is to increase confidence in reading among the primary pupils and to encourage leadership and mentoring skills for the sixth-form volunteers. 

Background

The partnership came about through a member of Bury Grammar School staff serving as a governor on the Chantlers School Board of Governors.
