Chantlers School Music and Dance (MAD) Week

The Band of the Bury Grammar School Combined Cadet Force perform for the KS1 and KS2 pupils during the Chantlers School Music and Dance (MAD) Week.

Aims

The aim is to provide pupils from Chantlers Primary School the opportunity to listen to military marching music, watch a marching band perform and to have a good at playing the drums.

The activity also gives the cadets from Bury Grammar School the experience of performing in front of a live audience.

Background

This has been running for one academic year. The music coordinator at Chantlers Primary School requested help from Bury Grammar School after she heard the band practising.

Resources

It requires the use of the school minibus and school staff to transport the band and its equipment to the primary school.

Pupil Involvement

The pupils in the CCF band range from Year 9 to Year 13.

Frequency

It is an annual event.
