CEP Head of Department meetings
Various Heads of Department are now meeting with their Cheltenham Education Partnership peers to discuss matters of mutual interest and propose collaborative projects.
Aims
The aim of these meetings is to encourage cross-Cheltenham collaboration and sharing of good practice, as well as CPD for teachers. Success will be achieved by positive engagement in these meetings.
Background
These meetings, which were spear-headed by the Heads of Science in 2010-2020, were encouraged by the new CEP coordinator appointed in August 2020, who identified a need and willingness for greater collaboration and exchange of ideas in a number of subject/discipline areas.
Resources
Staff members give up the time and different schools will host meetings on rotation with one designated person acting as chairperson. Each meeting (currently on-line) last for 1-2 hours two or three times per year.
Impact
Outcomes in terms of projects or CPD opportunities will be clear as these meetings continue.
Pupil Involvement
There is no pupil involvement.
Frequency
These are on-going meetings, which will continue for the foreseeable future.
