Careers Webinars with the law firm, Linklaters

In partnership with the law firm, Linklaters, CLS and CLSG have hosted four webinars aimed at developing the skills to make successful applications to graduate recruitment programmes, which are transferable to a range of settings.

The first, in October 2020, focused on developing pupils' communication skills, both in verbal and written settings, aimed at Year 12 students

The second, which took place in January 2021, focused on 'Accessing careers in the City' and featured a panel of early career lawyers and a senior recruiter, shared their tips and advice about what companies are looking for in potential candidates. Students from Years 10-13 were invited. In 2022, these webinars were repeated, enabling pupils from across and beyond our partner schools to access development opportunities linked to careers in the Law and skills of communication.

Impact

The webinars were attended by approximately 140 pupils and 69 questions were asked during the Q and A session of the second webinar. 

“The webinar was very informative, well-paced and structured. It was interesting to hear about the relative effectiveness of the actual content of a speech compared to the physical delivery, the latter having a bigger impact than I realised! It was also useful when the speaker related the talk to interview advice and provided practical tips. I enjoyed the interactive parts of the webinar too which meant it closely resembled an in-person talk!“
