Careers and Caterham School Society Events

Pupils from neighbouring secondary schools and the London Academy of Excellence attend careers events hosted at Caterham School and by the Caterham School Society (CSS).

Events have been numerous and have included sessions on Degree Aprenticeships, Oxbridge and the UCAS fair held at Caterham annually.   Career specific evenings have included the Creative Arts, Law and Finance.

LAE students attended the Caterham Commected event Climate in Action.

Aims

These events are designed to inform and educate students of career options and pathways through Higher Education.  Tailor made support has been given to early applicants for Oxbridge and Medicine to prepare for tests and interviews.

Impact

LAE student - 'I really enjoyed the Caterham careers networking event as I feel it gave me a good insight into the entrepreneurial world through speaking to different chief executives and successful entrepreneurs. I also learned more about the problems they faced and continue to face in their industries. It has definitely encouraged me to try and go into a similar career in the future, especially as they offered us support in doing so if ever needed.'
