Care Home Carol Singing

Lingfield College staff and sixth formers travelled to two local care homes, Knowle House and Francis Court to sing some showtunes and Christmas songs to staff and residents. 

Aims

To provide some festive cheer to residents and staff of both homes. 

Mental stimulation and entertainment outside of the regular routine for residents. 

Give our students the opportunity to do a 'good deed' and give back to the community. As well as the chance to perform in a way they are passionate about, singing. 

Background

Lingfield College has donated food and other items to both homes before as well as providing entertainment. 

This is a continuation of that partnership. 

Resources

The staff and student's time. 

Transport to and from homes. 

Keyboard, sheet music, speaker and other music materials/equipment. 

Impact

The reaction of the residents/staff during the show and their clear enjoyment of what was presented to them. 

Pupil Involvement

Two sixth formers from Lingfield College were the singers. Aged between 16-18. 

Both are girls. 

Both put in time learning songs for the partnership. 

Frequency

This is an annual event that Lingfield College hopes to run for the foreseeable future.
