Big Band at the Little Theatre

The LGS Big Band played at the Little Theatre in February, to raise money for their centenary fund, performing Swing Era hits by Count Basie and Glenn Miller, alongside plenty of vocal numbers and well-known film themes.

This event involved 40 pupils from years 9-13 and four members of LGS staff.

Aims

To raise money for the Little Theatre's Centenary Fund. Tickets were sold at £10pp to the general public.

The Little Theatre is a predominantly voluntary run organization that has established itself as home of the Leicester Drama Society (LDS), having run for nearly a hundred years in the heart of Leicester’s city centre.

Recent years have been challenging for the theatre, with its first closure in its history caused in 2020 by COVID-19, and financial challenges posed and a result. Spring 2021 saw the theatre re-open with a new season of shows. LGS is proud to support this organisation in this way.
