Author Events

Malvern St James Girls' School hosts a number of author events, during which authors deliver talks and sign copies of their books. 

Aims

To have an author visit & talk to promote reading for pleasure and writing.

To encourage our pupils and those from local maintained schools to read and have an interest in literature. Widening access for pupils to have more engaging opportunities to meet and hear from Authors.

Resources

Use of Lawnside Room. 

Impact

Many children inspired to read the books and to write their own stories. Visiting schools enjoyed opportunity. Positive feedback forms from children.

Pupils purchase books from the Malvern Book Co-operative which are signed by the author.

Years 3-6.

Frequency

We aim for one author visit to Malvern St James Girls' School per year.
