Activities with local schools

Each year we host several A-level maths competitions to which all Bristol schools are invited and up to 5 state schools attend. We also hosted the local Worldwise Quiz in October, which was attended by a number of local state schools. Aspiring medics from St Mary Redcliffe school were invited to our Meet the Medic evening last November. When the History Squad visited the Junior School, 80 pupils in years 5 and 6 from St George’s and St Michael’s on the Mount took part in a very successful joint workshop. Last summer all of the Y5 and 6 students from Barton Hill Primary school came to see our production of Oliver Twist. They also had a short talk from our Theatre manager about lighting and sound after the performance.

Background

These have grown up over time. Some have been running for a number of years. Heads of department at QEH have contacted colleagues in local schools to invite them.
