Access to Higher Education workshop

GSAL's Higher Education team delivered a workshop on the opportunities and decision-making process post-16 for 20 Year 11 students from Mount St Mary's School.

Share advice and resources on other pathways, including degree apprenticeships

Share information on applying to GSAL for sixth form and the bursary scheme.

 

 

Background

Existing partnership with Mount St Mary's School 

10 years working with the school on various initiatives - higher education workshops, interview skills, facilities  provision for GCSE revision workshops.

 

Resources

GSAL higher ed and careers staff to deliver the workshop. Both are teaching staff. Director of External Relations and Admissions Manager deliver the talk on GSAL sixth form.

Takes place after school at GSAL in the conference suite. Refreshments served before presentation. Activity where students discuss and consider their own preferences for A-levels and higher education is part of the workshop.
